Thieves Rob Pastor, Deacon in Chicago Church; Bishop: City Has Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

A pastor and a deacon were held up at gunpoint in a Chicago church on July 10 as they were preparing for a Bible study meeting, the CBS website reports today (July 12, 2014).

It happened at the Liberty Christian Center in Chatham as Pastor Anton Matthews and deacon Edgar Horton prepped for Bible study. The doors were open -- they always are -- in the Chatham house of worship.

Two men rushed in; one had a gun. The weapon was pointed at the pastor's head. The thieves fled after receiving money from the pastor and deacon. The Bible study was held at 7:00 p.m. as scheduled.

Bishop James Dukes of Liberation Christian Center spoke to CBS about the Chicago violence. He said, "The whole city, I believe, is suffering from PTSD" (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).
