At Least 40 People Killed Today in Abuja, Nigeria; Caused by 2 Explosions at Crowded Bus Station

Dozens of people were killed in two explosions in Abuja -- a city in central Nigeria -- today (April 14, 2014), the Spero Forum website reports.

Commuters were waiting to board buses at a crowded bus station for their trip to work when the detonations took place.

Witnesses say that dozens of bodies are scattered about the area of carnage. It is feared that this may have been yet another attack by the armed Muslim sect known as Boko Haram, which has sworn to impose Muslim law throughout the multi-ethnic and multi-religious nation.

At least 40 bodies have been taken to makeshift morgues in Abuja, while rescue workers and police are gathering body parts.
