A female Greek singer has sparked outrage after dressing up in a black face and pretending to be blind by wearing sun glasses while impersonating Stevie Wonder on a TV music reality show, the New York Post website reports today (August 3, 2013).
Singer "Mando," 47, dressed up as Wonder for the "Face Sounds Familiar" talent show, playing Wonder's hit "Part-Time Lover."
Greek celebrities on the show are assigned a singer to impersonate, but Mando's rendition turned heads for her dedication to the role. She even had a stage hand help her down the stairs.
Mando was voted winner of that week's episode by viewers, but several users on Twitter later criticized the rendition and the show for letting it happen.
