The Kyiv Post (Ukrainian) website reports today (July 11, 2010) that Ukraine's President Viktor Yanukovich has received the highest award of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow patriarchate.
The Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine Vladimir decorated the president with the badge of Merit sign of the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
The metropolitan also presented Yanukovich with an icon of the Savior.
Yanukovich received the award on the occasion of his 60th birthday.
