NY Supreme Court Sets Trump Trial to Begin March 25; Charged wirth Making $130,000 Payment to Stormy Daniels

 New York Supreme

Court Justice Juan Merchan denied former President Donald Trump's motion to dismiss a 34--count indictment in a case alleging former attorney Michael Cohen made a $130,000 payment to Stephanie Clifford, also known as Stormy Daniels,  after a non--disclosure agreement on behalf of Trump shortly before the 2016 presidential election, the New American website reports today (Feb. 16, 2024).

Trump attorney Todd Blanche told Merchan the case should be dismissed due to Trump running for president, to which Merchan responded, "That's not a legal argument. I'll see you on March 25."

The trial is expected to last six weeks.
