Many Americans feel the cost of many items is too high, even though annual inflation in the U.S. slowed by 3% last month, the USA Today website reports today (July 16, 2023).
Inflation, which is measured by the consumer price index, has now eased for 12 straight months and is at its lowest rate since March 2021.
That's a significant decline from a year ago when inflation hit a 40-year high of 9.1%.
