NYC Schools to Use Streets and Parks for Classes; Will Provide "Outdoor Learning" in Healthier Air

New York City schools will be able to use their yards, along with streets and nearby parks, as part of a new "outdoor learning" plan Mayor de Blasio unveiled today (August 24, 2020), according to the NY Daily News website.

Under the plan, schools won't be required to use outdoor space, but principals who want to can apply to the Education Department to participate.

While school is scheduled to start in less than three weeks, de Blasio insisted educators will have enough time to use the new approach.
