German City of Dresden Calls "Nazi Emergency;" Rise in Far-Right Extremism Is Threat to Society

A German city has officially declared a "Nazi emergency" after seeing an increase in far-right extremism, the Yahoo News website reports today (November 2, 2019).


Councilors in Dresden said they passed the resolution to protect minorities against dangerous views and rising violence.


Councilor Max Aschenbach, whose Die Partei party brought forward the resolution, said : "We have a Nazi problem in Dresden and we have to do something about it."


He added, "The open democratic society is threatened."
