The Christian Broadcast Network website reports today (October 16, 2011) that a federal jury in North Carolina convicted three Muslim men on October 13 for plotting to commit acts of terror.
The trial centered on a plot to carry out terrorist attacks on a U.S. Marine Corps base in Quantico, Virginia, and overseas targets.
Omar Aly Hassan,22, Ziyad Yaghi,21, and Hysen Sherifi,24, raised money and trained with weapons to support the jihadist plot.
Sherifi and Yaghi could receive life sentences for their role in the plot. Hassan could face up to 15 years in prison.
