For the first time, United Nations members have agreed on a unified treaty to protect biodiversity in the high seas, a move aimed at countering threats to marine biodiversity, the Euro News website reports today (March 5, 2023).
Yesterday, delegates finalized the test that will be adopted at a later date after it has been legally vetted and translated.
Supporters of the treaty have hailed it as a landmark move to protect biodiversity.
