The U.S. ordered the departure of family members of U.S. Embassy personnel serving in Kyiv today (January 23, 2022), citing the "threat of Russian military action," the State Department said, according to the Washington Post website.
The decision underscores the growing fears in Washington of an imminent military invasion of Ukraine by Moscow as it amasses tens of thousands of Russian troops around Ukraine's borders.
"There are reports Russia is planning significant military action against Ukraine," the State Department bulletin said.
