Trump Abruptly Ends New Sanctions on N. Korea; Does So Because He "Likes" Dictator Kim Jong Un

President Donald Trump yesterday abruptly withdrew new sanctions aimed at North Korea because, the White House said, he "likes" the country's leader, Kim Jong Un, the Yahoo News website reports today (March 23, 2019).

Trump announced on Twitter that he had ordered the withdrawal of "additional sanctions" imposed by the Treasury Department on March 21 on North Korea.

"I have today [March 22] ordered the withdrawal of those additional Sanctions!" Trump posted on Twitter yesterday.

"President Trump likes Chairman Kim and he doesn't think these sanctions will be necessary," White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement.
