Explosive Hurled in Window of Minn. Mosque; FBI Leads Investigation on Bloomington Attack

An improvised explosive device (IED) was hurled through a window into the office of the imam at a mosque near Minneapolis, Minnesota early yesterday morning, the Jewish Press website reports today (August 6, 2017).

Some 15 to 20 people were inside the mosque when the bomb exploded, but were not injured by the blast, which occurred at around 5 a.m. at the Dar Al-Farooq Islamic Center in Bloomington, Minnesota.

The FBI is leading the investigation into the attack.

In a statement condemning the attack, Minn. Governor Mark Dayton said, "Every place of worship, for all Minnesotans of every faith and culture, must be sacred and safe."
