Exclusive: Abbas Ready to Sign Israel Peace Deal; PA Pres.Is More Compliant on Previous Demands

The Jerusalem Post website reveals exclusively today (May 14, 2017) that Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas has voiced "unprecedented" readiness to reach a peace deal with Israel.

Sources told the Jerusalem Post that Abbas made this clear to President Donald Trump during their meeting at the White House last week.

President Trump plans to use his trip to Israel on May 22 to receive assurances from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he, too, is committed to a peace agreement.

Since meeting with Trump last week, Abbas has changed his rigid rhetoric, issuing a number of statements meant to reflect flexibility on previous demands, in order to achieve an Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement.
