Suicide Bomber Kills 47, Wounds 79 in Nigeria; Believed Islamic Extremists Planned the Attack

Several dozen people were killed today (November 10, 2014) when a suicide bomber detonated an explosion at a school in northeast Nigeria, according to the USA Today website.

The incident occurred at Government Technical Science College in the city of Potiskum, the capital of Yobe state.

National police spokesman Emmanuel Ojukwu said, "There was an explosion detonated by a suicide bomber. We have 47 dead and 79 injured."

He added the Islamist extremist group Boko Haram was believed to be responsible for the attack.
