Earthquake Kills over 2,300 in Turkey, Syria; Many Bldgs. Toppled, Deaths Expected to Rise

A 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck southern Turkey and northern Syria early today (Feb. 6, 2023), killing more than 2,300 people and taking down countless buildings, the Fox News website reports. 


The earthquake prompted a search for survivors in the rubble in cities and towns across the region. 


Dozens of buildings in cities in the area were toppled. The death toll is expected to rise significantly.
